What We Do

Find Your Roots provide a tailored personal family history research service, and so we do not offer set price packages. Instead, we prefer to work on an agreed programme, designed to achieve the client’s objectives.

We can help you create your Family Tree, by:

  • Researching a specific branch of your family genealogy.
  • Researching any number of family generations you wish.
  • Helping you when you have hit a brick wall.
  • Providing printouts of relevant records.
  • Obtaining Birth, Marriage and Death certificates, if required.
  • Publishing your research results online for you and your whole family to view.
  • Providing a printed wall chart of your family tree.

Recommended Research Path

Our recommended programme of research is:

  1. Researching back to the early 1800s first, using online sources. This way, it is possible to trace most families back to this time, but there are of course exceptions to this. The records may not be available for example, or your ancestors may have been immigrants.

  2. It is advisable for the second phase of the research to verify and confirm the original findings, by referral to primary sources such as Parish baptism, marriage and burial records.

  3. Having achieved and verified the first stage information, it is in theory, using parish records, possible to take your research back to around 1538. Realistically however, most family trees can be traced back to the eighteenth century.

What Will It Cost?

Briefly, our pricing structure can be summarised as:

  1. The initial phase of research, back to around 1800 can, in most cases, be achieved for a cost of £75.

  2. The costs of verifying the obtained information will obviously vary, dependant on availability and location of records, and the client objectives.
A maximum cost can be agreed for this phase, before deciding whether to move onto phase 3 of our Find Your Roots' recommended sequence of research.

  3. For this phase of the research, a programme of objectives, for a fixed maximum financial outlay can be agreed should you decide to pursue phase 3 of our recommended sequence of research.
So why not make someone's (or your own) Christmas, Birthday, or Anniversary very special by buying them the perfect gift, their Family Tree?
