Recommended Research Path

Our recommended programme of research is:

  1. Researching back to the early 1800s first, using online sources. This way, it is possible to trace most families back to this time, but there are of course exceptions to this. The records may not be available for example, or your ancestors may have been immigrants.

  2. It is advisable for the next phase of the research to verify and confirm the original findings, by referral to primary sources such as Parish baptism, marriage and burial records.

  3. Having achieved and verified the first stage information, it is in theory, using parish records, possible to take your research back to around 1538. Realistically however, most family trees can be traced back to the eighteenth century.

So why not make someone's (or your own) Christmas, Birthday, or Anniversary very special by buying them the perfect gift, their Family Tree?
